Identity of the Data Controller
QV is the data controller - the entity that collects and processes personal data or arranges for such actions taken on its behalf by its agents. Legitimate Basis for Collecting and Using Your Personal Information
The principal basis on which we collect and use your information is when you give us your affirmative consent. However, when you provide us with your information at www.quantumvigilance.com, or contract us to perform cybersecurity consulting related services, QV has a legitimate basis beyond consent to collect your personal information in order to provide you with the goods or services that you expect us to deliver - which depends upon us having and using your personal information. In the process of contracting us for cybersecurity related consulting or advisory services, you will be asked to sign a Consulting Agreement, from which a legitimate basis is created for us to collect and use your personal information, information pertaining to your organization as well as employee, contractor and any 3rd party information. Once you have a formal relationship with us, QV also has a legitimate interest in providing you with timely information about the status of services rendered, upcoming events and/or products in which you may have an interest; so, to better serve you, we may market or promote those events/products to you. Thus, depending on the precise situation, QV may rely on one of these legitimate bases in collecting your personal information.

How We Collect Personal Information
To save you time and assist you in contacting us and receiving information relevant to our services, you may subscribe using your personal information at https://www.quantumvigilance.com/get-started or at “Subscribe to our Newsletter” on the footer of all of our webpages. The “get-started” saves your full name, email address, company name, phone number and job title whereas our “Newsletter” subscription form only saves your email address. If you purchase a contracted service from us, we will request certain additional personally identifiable information from you, your organization, contractors and any 3rd party service providers. You must provide contact information, including but not limited to; (name, email, and address) and financial information, including but not limited to; (credit card number, expiration date, bank account information) as well as other pertinent business information as to allow us to perform the services for which we were hired. These pieces of information will vary by situation and be specific to you. We also use this information for billing purposes and of course completing the services you have contracted QV to perform. We may also use the mailing address you provide to send you QV brochures, correspondence and other items of interest/communications.

QV may use outside vendors, 3rd parties and/or subcontractors to perform services we provide. The authentication and validation process may include requiring persons to provide identification as well as ensuring such persons comply with and ensure the confidentially, integrity and authentication of any personal information of yours they may handle. Copies of such information may be collected and stored by QV, but this information will be used by QV in accordance with this privacy policy, to prevent fraud and to ensure the identity of those subcontracted by us.

QV may occasionally provide you the opportunity to participate in follow-up surveys. If you participate, we may request certain personally identifiable information from you. You also have the right to have your personal information ported to others; however, because QV's use of your personal information is specific to its uses, it is usually not technically feasible for us to honor such requests because we are not able to exchange that information with another entity with which we have no direct interface or any reason to exchange data. You are also entitled to know if QV is using any automated decision-making (including profiling); we do not use any such automated technologies in the processing of your personal information.

How We Protect Your Personal Information
QV safeguards the security of the data you send us with physical, electronic, and managerial procedures. Likewise, we urge you to take every precaution to protect your personal data when you are on the Internet. These precautions include changing your password often, using a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols, using a secure browser, or using a Virtual Private Network (VPN).
QV websites uses HTTPS, TLS v1.2 and above, and SSL on all web pages where personal information is submitted. This protects the confidentiality of your information as it is transmitted over the Internet.
QV does not store credit card numbers on our servers. Credit card numbers are submitted to a credit card authorization service for payment. This service provides QV with credit card validation information only. We do not have access to your personal financial data.

QV may employ independent contractors to help manage data services, and such contractors may have access to data, like the access we give our employees. Also, QV may store sales account data, including personally identifiable information, with a third-party application service provider.

Newsletters And Promotional Email
If you no longer wish to receive our newsletters and promotional communications from QV, you may withdraw your previous consent and stop receiving them by following the instructions included in each newsletter or communication.

The QV website may contain links to other sites that are not owned or controlled by QV. Please be aware that QV is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. Information Obtained from Third Parties
QV does not sell or trade your personal information. Nonetheless, we may at times receive contact lists from other organizations. We may send mailings such as brochures to these addresses. Typically, these are one-time mailings, and the data is not entered into our database. If you want to remove yourself from the third party's database, you must contact them directly. These mailings have a brochure code printed on the mailing label. By providing this code, we will be able to tell you from what provider we received your contact info.

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as the "Shine the Light" law, permits our users who are residents of the State of California in the United States to annually request and obtain, at no charge, information about the personal information (if any) we have disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. This information would include a list of the categories of personal information that was shared and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared information in the immediately preceding calendar year.
